Qualogy was already well acquainted with Smoothwall since they had previously used the free open source Express firewall to protect their network. As the company grew, they needed the reassurance of commercial support for their network security functions - and a reliable anti-Spam solution. Mike also needed a good VPN solution to aid communication between the company's two sites.
Mike evaluated Advanced Firewall as the logical step up from the free version, and was pleased to find it just as easy to install and use. The email security module made a immediate difference, solving the company's Spam problems straight away.
The ability to add more and more interfaces for Qualogy's networks as the company grew was also a valuable benefit,and Mike says Advanced Firewall provided an 'easy way to set up site to site VPN'. Since purchasing, Qualogy have been pleased with the reliability and scalability of their solution, and the prompt service they have received from sales and support.
The biggest advantage for us was Email Security, which worked brilliantly. Our Spam problem was over in an instant. It blocked hundreds and hundreds of Spam mails daily
Like the free version, we found the advanced version very easy to use and install. We also gave it to staff at our new branch in Suriname, who had almost no knowledge of Smoothwall products. They picked it up easily with just a day's training
